I have had the oppportunity to announce at swim meets for many years now and its an enjoyable opportunity to work closely with officials at meets to ensure the meet runs smooth and yet exciting.
Most recently, I announced Scarborough Audi Mid Town PanAm Long Course Invitational at the Toronto PanAm Sports Centre. Some previous meets included the Whitby Dolphins Challenge Cup; the Scarborough Swim Club Audi Winter Classic, the North York Youth Cup and the Swim Ontario AA Spring Championships.
Typically, most meets require some background research on meet, regional, provincial or national records that can be referred to. Additionally, adding some additional commentary on recent meets can add some dialogue to meets as well.
Warmups can include my extensive music library which is updated on a regular basis. I have also introduced background music to the 400’s, 800’s and 1500’s
All services are provided with my own equipment and resources:
- Microphone, audio mixer and all connection to the facility PA
- MacBook Pro with the music library of 8000 songs
For some facilities with substandard audio/speaker systems, I can also provide 2 to 4 speakers that would provide excellent quality to the swimmers, coaches and spectators
